Scholarship Information:
Two Scholarship Applications will be available January 3 - March 16, 2007.
One for Fullerton College graduates
One for students continuing their education at Fullerton College
Students may pick up an application from the Cadena Transfer Center, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, or EOPS.
The application must be turned in to the Fullerton College Foundation Office no later than 1:00 p.m. on March 16, 2007.
Attended Fullerton College as a full-time student (12 or more units)
Maintained a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0
Completed at least 24 units at Fullerton College
Recipient may be selected by the Fullerton College Foundation Scholarship Committee, by a specific division, or by some other committee/person.
April: The Scholarship Committee selects student recipients
FC divisions submit their list of awardees
Students are announced at annual scholarship banquet
May: Letters are sent out informing the students of their award status
August: The first disbursement of the scholarship award is given
January: The second disbursement of the scholarship award is given
Disbursements: Awards are typically disbursed in two payments: half in the fall, and upon successful completion of 12 units with a 3.00 G.P.A., the remaining half in the spring.
Fall disbursement:
To receive the first disbursement, students must complete a scholarship disbursement form, submit proof of registration and a thank you letter to the donor. Processing time for checks is approximately two weeks.
The first disbursements begin after the student has registered for the fall semester.
Spring disbursement:
To receive the second disbursement, students must show proof of successful completion of fall semester courses as well as proof of registration for the spring.
The second disbursements begin after the student has registered for the spring semester.
Other conditions:
'Graduating Scholarship' recipients must graduate by August of the year of their award in order to receive their scholarship award.
Unclaimed scholarships will be forfeited unless students by the end of the academic year in which they were awarded.
About the Fullerton College Foundation:
The Fullerton College Foundation was incorporated in 1959 as a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to assist current students at Fullerton College to continue their education at upper-division levels, to promote their educational welfare, as well as to support Fullerton College in rendering its educational services. The corporation has the power and responsibility to receive bequests, gifts, donations, legacies and funds for the function of carrying out these objectives. The Foundation currently has more than 170 scholarships established to benefit students. It also administers funds provided for scholarships and grants by off-campus organizations and individuals. Tax-deductible donations to establish memorial or honorary scholarships may be arranged through the Foundation Office.
To establish a new scholarship fund a minimum of $1,000 is required
Additional donations may be added to the fund at any time
Donors may select the criteria for their award and establish the name of the scholarship
Criteria examples:
Full-time student who has completed 24 units at Fullerton College
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Continuing student at Fullerton College
Receiving an Associate's Degree from Fullerton College
Transferring to a four-year university
